Meeting Recap-- January 30th, 2016

In spite of the lure of 60 degree mid day temperatures, the 30 degree morning , and non-flowing electrons, kept many bikes in their garages this morning. Never-the-less seven members rode in to round out attendance at our seventh year kick off meeting to an even dozen.
After viewing and discussing a vintage Baloney Shop video we took up the subject of a ride schedule for the coming months. For February we decided to tackle the route that was cancelled in early January, namely the ride over to Dial Ga, Suches and Dahlonega and try again February 13th, weather permitting.
For a March ride Larry suggested a ride west on March 12th, to the Pigeon Mountain area. Larry reported the existence a newly paved road to the view point. Details for both these rides will be sent as the scheduled days approach.
We also discussed the three-day ride/camp adventure. The Friday-Sunday dates of June 10th-12th was tentatively set, with more details to be decided at a future meeting.
To round out the meeting we viewed a few motorcycle related videos, one that focused on what and what-not to do when caught at a stop on a steep hill that affords only limited traction, others more for laughs rather than instruction.
After the meeting five of us rode up to Jasper, taking some interesting and at times challenging side roads up through north Cherokee and Pickens counties. We stopped for lunch at 61 Main restaurant in Jasper then returned by a different route home. The weather was super , the ride great and as usual, the fellowship outstanding.

Our next meeting will be on February 27th, 9 am at Timothy.
