NOV/DEC MEETING, December 3, 2011

Nine riders were able to make it to the meeting, including one new participant, Mark Hoffman. Mark doesn't have wheels yet but he is hot on the trail of a Yamaha cruiser. Mark is new to motorcycling but has completed the MSF course and has his endorsement.

The group continued into episode three of Bible On Trial, the video prepared by Lutheran Hour Ministries to counter the misinformation currently getting attention in the media. They then were amazed by the skill of the BMW trick rider captured on a video that is linked  on our website (Not For Wimps #23). When watching keep an eye out for that dismount.

The group also saw a pair of videos from rnickey mouse at Mulholland Drive, one showing the "black posse" and their skillful riding around one of Mulholland's famous (infamous) 270 degree sweepers. This was followed by a video of the same turn and less skillful riders coming very close to high siding, or otherwise wiping out.

The Ridge and Valley ride scheduled for Saturday December 17th was discussed and it seemed, if the weather cooperated, and the high temperature forecasted for the day was at least 45 degrees, quite a few will make the ride. Deatails of the ride will be sent out late next week.

A discussion of ways to eliminate glass or face shield fogging was discussed. Cat-Crap and other rub on defoggers seemed to be popular with some. Two methods of fog-proof shield inserts were discussed and a sample of each passed around.

The meeting wrapped up with a spectacular snow mobile video that is linked from our web site (Not Motorcycle #1). If you left early and missed this, or couldn't make the meeting don't miss seeing this.

After the meeting five of the men went for a quick lunch and four of them carried on to explore some great back roads in Cherokee and Bartow, including a ride through an area that has been essentially deforested, the result of tornadoes this past Spring. It was good to see Frank back on his Harley after surgery.

The next scheduled meeting will be January 28th, 2012. That will mark two years for TLCMC.
