Meeting Recap--July 29, 2017
Nine of us met this day to discuss rides that could be scheduled for the upcoming months. This is what we settled on:
August 12th ride north to the Fox Fire Outdoor Museum in Mountain City,
September 16th ride the Cherohala Skyway
October 14th ride west to Cloudland Canyon State Park
November 11th witness the dam release at Tallulah Gorge State Park
Details on these rides will be posted as their dates approach
While no club ride was scheduled for the Labor Day "Vintage and 2-Stroke Weekend" at TWO a few riders indicated they may take a ride up there on Sunday September 3rd. Let the group know by e-mail if you're interested.
Similarly there was interest by at least Larry and Dave in riding up to Buck Bald, or vicinity, to view what should be a total eclipse on August 21st. Let Larry or Dave know if you'd like to join them.
We discussed the view many motorcycle pundits have that we can expect dual sport bikes 250cc - 650cc class to slowly disappear from the market while manufacturers concentrate on the higher margin "Adventure" bikes and the high volume sub-250cc market in third world countries. Additionally tighter emission standards here and in Europe are expected to be difficult for large 1-cylinder engines to achieve.
Our next meeting will be on August 26th. Mark your calendar.
