Meeting Recap- November 10, 2012

The meeting was pretty much a video event with Dan showing a preview of what he is putting together, with Steve, from their weekend at the antique motorcycle gathering at Barber Motorsports in Leeds, Alabama mid October. From the looks of it they'll have a lot to show us after they have the footage edited (no small task).

We also took a look at another episode from Lutheran Hour "What They Didn't Teach You In Sunday School". These are available for your viewing at:  http://www.lhmmen.com/ under the tab "Shorts".

Bob showed a video taken on a family motor home and motorcycle trip to the southwest. This first segment included footage from the Big Bend National Park's Chisos mountain area, an area of spectacular scenery.  Another portion showed the ride down Pinto Canyon, a 54 mile "ranch road" between Marfa and Ruidosa Texas on the Mexican border. Future video from the trip that included Tombstone Arizona, Ruidoso and Cloudcroft New Mexico are  forthcoming at a future meeting.

A few of those attending volunteered to help set up Timothy's Christmas tree on Saturday November 24th. Larry Kastens has the details if you want to join in.

The next group ride date was set at December 8th. The exact route was not discussed but generally will have to accommodate the cold early morning temperatures, the low sun in the east, and early darkness.

It was decided to not have a monthly meeting in December as too many will be otherwise occupied with holiday activities. The next scheduled meeting will be January 26th. During December and January unscheduled  "pick up" rides may be possible for those occasional great days that come along. Contact for these rides will be by e-mail.

At the close of the meeting the group was reminded that Jim was going in for lung surgery on Tuesday the 13th of November. Keep him in mind and in your prayers.
