In spite of the competing attractions seven of us were able to meet for our monthly meeting. After viewing a few episodes of Half Throttles adventures in Panama and the latest Baloney Shop from LHM we settled down to lay out the Long Rides for the coming four months. Seven members had e-mailed their preferences of possible rides. Here they are tabulated:

The four most preferred rides were Foxfire, Lookout Mt.,Highlands and the overnight to Tellico Plains. Those at the meeting who had not sent in preferences agreed these would be the most popular with them also. So, they've been scheduled and can be seen in the Calendar Section.

The meeting continued with a discussion based on the  MCN article "Against the Wind" a PDF attached to an e-mail sent July 24th, regarding the up-coming meeting. Lots of good information and advice. Look it up.

We talked a bit about why some web links on our site, that seem rather basic and lack luster, have received over 750 hits. A mystery perhaps.

The meeting concluded around noon. The temperatures and threatening sky dampened the thoughts of a lunch ride.
