Meeting Recap- July 28, 2012

Gerald rode over on his son's Honda 250 to join a handful of regular attendees for the July meeting of TLCMC. Welcome to the world that moves on two wheels.

The meeting kicked off with what may be the last episode of Lutheran Hour Ministries' Baloney Shop. Pastor Klaus has retired and there has been no talk of a replacement yet (as if one is possible). Following Klaus they got a few laughs watching a Baptist Music Director's attempt to adapt Leaning On The Everlasting Arms to the music styles popular through the decades from the nineteen forties on. A lot of fun.

Meeting Recap...June 30, 2012

In spite of the heat a number of riders made it to the June monthly meeting. After viewing what might be the last episode of the LHM Baloney Shop we looked at a few videos that emphasized, in an interesting way, using the front brake on pavement and not on dirt or gravel, along with a few that were highlighted by fiascoes loading bikes on trucks.

Of importance to all, we chose Highlands for our July ride (7/14) and Bull Sluice/Tallulah Gorge for August (8/11).

We talked about the possibility of Cloudland Canyon for September and Barber Race Track for October (10/13-10/15).

After the meeting most rode over to Family Traditions for lunch where Abby joined us. All agreed it was too hot (100+) for an afternoon ride so home to air conditioning we went.

May 2012 Meeting Recap

The "May" meeting was held on June 2nd as the meeting's normal day (the last Saturday of te month) fell on Memorial Day weekend. In spite of the date change nine members, including Mark's wife Abby, were able to attend. The agenda included a Baloney Shop from the past (there haven't been any new ones lately), two episodes from Panama by way of Halfthrottle, our resident gringo, and a couple videos on packing for camping and riding in the rain, useful topics for the pending overnight ride to Cherohala and the Smokies.

Meeting Recap- April 28, 2012

A handful of members were able to make the meeting and had a chance to review the ride calendar for the coming months and make a few changes that should be noted. First and foremost the overnight trip to Cherohala and the Smokies  has been moved to June 15-16 in order to accommodate more riders. We'll use the same route and same campground as previously scheduled.

An all day ride to De Soto Falls, Little River Canyon (both in Alabama) and Cave Springs  was scheduled for Saturday May 12th. Scheduling of rides for July and August will be set at our next meeting.
